CNTY24 version 1, contains state and county boundaries for Maine. The coverage has polygon topology and was created in Arc/Info from METWP24 by a select on arcs coded TYPE = state, county, and coastline. Polygons in the coverage were labeled with COUNTY, CNTYCODE, TAG, LAND, ISLAND. Arcs in the coverage were coded for SOURCE, TYPE and LAND. Coverage attributes were carefully examined for accuracy based on existing source material and limitations of scale. LABEL ERRORS and NODE ERRORS were resolved. The coverage was CLEANED and BUILT with POLYGON topology.
The item CNTYCODENUM was added to provide a text type and numeric type field for the county code.
The County boundary for Franklin and Somerset was modified between the towns of Starks and Industry. Digital parcel data, confirmation from town officials and official E911 road data all placed the boundary east of it's previous location.
